VISITS / TRIPS

Except for Monday, during the whole week of the project meeting in Vysoké Mýto we were really lucky with the weather so it was easy to realize all the planned excursions and field trips.

On Wednesday 18/ 4/ 2018 the students and teachers (taking part in the project meeting) got on the coach and went to the village of Velká Deštná in the Orlické Mountains (the Eagle Mountains). Mgr. Tomáš Drahoš ( Facebook), the geography and P. E. teacher in the Gymnázium Vysoké Mýto and a keen amateur photographer shared his expierences with them and showed them how to take large-scale photographs. At the same time the participants had an opportunity to try out some mobile phone applications for determination of plants and flowers. After the "work" done in the morning, there was time for socializing and horse-riding in the afternoon. Some of the students went horse-riding for the first time so it was a remarkable new experience for them.

On Thursday afternoon (19/ 4/ 2018) the meeting participants went on another field trip - this time to the small town of Luže. First they visited the Temple of Virgin Mary the Helper on Chlumek Hill where the church sexton told the visitors about the history of the place.

After that the students went to the park and arboretum in the Hamza Specialized Rehabilitation Centre for Children and Adults in Luže - Košumberk. In mixed international teams they worked on a series of BioBlitz assignments.

At the end of the day they all moved to the pond of Chobot near vysoké Mýto where they met a prehistoric man who explained about the relationship of prehistoric people and nature.

On Friday morning (20/ 4/ 2018) the teachers visited the factory Iveco Czech republic a. s. First they learnt about the history of the company and then during a guided tour they could see the assembly line and production of coaches and buses.
